Game Five
Post 22 blows
out Parkston

Jarrett Jensen just before connecting with his two-run
home run in the second inning.
ABERDEEN -- Rapid City Post 22 wasted
no time before jumping on Parkston's pitching in taking a 16-4 victory
in the first elimination game on Thursday in Aberdeen. Post 22 would
score multiple runs in the second, third, fifth, sixth and seventh
innings as they cruised to victory. Post 22's first runs came on a
two-run home run by Jarrett Jensen in the second inning, as he tagged a
ball to just left of the scoreboard in right center field.
Each of Post 22's batters reached base at least one time
throughout the game, and all but one reached multiple times. Brock Estes
led the charge for Post 22, recording three hits and four RBI in the
contest. J.J. Johnson took care of things for the Hardhats on the mound,
as he went the distance in the run-rule shortened contest.
Parkston struggled both on the mound and in the field, as
they allowed a total of fourteen hits to Post 22 batters while
committing five errors in the game as well. Tyson Gau was chased off of
the mound in the third inning, and relievers Dylan Mogck and Brady Nolz
did not fare much better.
Parkston ends their season for the second consecutive year
after back-to-back opening losses in the Class "A" Tournament, while
Rapid City will advance to face the loser of the Sioux Falls
West-Mitchell game at 5:00 P.M. on Friday night.
